For many years, one of the first questions customers asked about a cutting wheel was:
“How many cuts can one wheel make?”
Wheel life is still important, but it no longer tells the whole story.
As labour costs continue to rise, professional users are paying more attention to overall productivity. A wheel that completes 35 cuts may appear economical, but if every cut takes longer, requires excessive pressure or overheats the workpiece, it may not deliver the lowest real operating cost.
Today, users increasingly want to know:

A more meaningful test report should record:
• Average cutting time • Total number of cuts • Material type, dimensions and specification • Machine power and rotational speed • Cutting pressure or applied load • Initial and remaining wheel diameter • Condition of the cut and workpiece
Testing under consistent conditions allows buyers to compare products more accurately and understand the balance between cutting speed, wheel life and operator effort.
The best cutting wheel is not necessarily the one that lasts the longest. It is the one that helps users complete more high-quality work safely and efficiently.
